Hello Mr. Carney - once again I would like to thank you for your time today at the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce event. I had the opportunity to briefly talk to you after the speech and wanted to follow it up with this note so that hopefully next time around you can remember me.
As I mentioned, Economics was a subject that I could not grasp during my accounting studies back in late 1980s. I had to take the course over 3 times in order to pass it. Then when I did my MBA, in 2004, I was so worried about it - and it so happens that it was the last two courses I had to take... Ouch! Well this is now water-under-the-bridge as I passed both of the courses with flying colours graduating with an honour degree in International Finance.
Since I now understand the subject, I have been a big fan of it especially from a monetary policy point-of-view. I follow the Bank of Canada development with great pride. I am always impressed with the quality of the information, policies and the management team. In my opinion, it is a great organization providing Canada with a top-notch reputation around the world.
You are an inspiration to us all. A part of me wishes that when I was younger I could have pushed myself as much as you did... to get where you are and have the wealth of knowledge that you have. You make me proud to be Canadian.
Merci!
